Iris Phillips

President

Iris Phillips is the President of Grace Federal Solutions with more than 15 years of experience in the fields of government contracting, healthcare recruiting and healthcare administration. She has held senior management positions such as Vice President of both Operations and Business Development for more than 10 years and has pursued, won and managed numerous government contracts.Ms. Phillips has also held positions related to managing patient accounts and medical coding for a major Medical Teaching institution. In all her positions, she has recruited, hired, established work standards for, evaluated, and counseled permanent and contract employees.

Vernon Spaulding

MD, FACP, CPE
Brigadier General, US Army (Retired)

Dr. Spaulding is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Health Care Compliance. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and a Certified Physician Executive (CPE).Through combat related activities, Dr. Spaulding lost his hearing—eventually requiring a cochlear implant. He retired from the U.S. Army in December 1996 as a Brigadier General and a disabled veteran. He received the Distinguished Service Medal and four awards of the Legion of Merit for over 31 years of military service. His Military assignments included “Commanding General” of Eisenhower Medical Center – Fort Gordon, Georgia; Senior Administrator of the Department of Defense’s (DOD) Tri-Care Health Program for the Southeast United States; and Senior Medical Planner for DOD’s Medical Support to the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.

Dr. Spaulding joined the faculty of the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) in January 1997. He served as the Vice President for Clinical Activities and Professor of Medicine and was the Senior MCG physician manager of MCG’s $100,000,000 contract to deliver health care service to over 40,000 inmates in the Georgia Department of Corrections from 1997 – 2000. After the reorganization of the MCGClinical system under MCG Health, Inc., Dr. Spaulding became the Corporate Compliance Officer for MCG Health Inc., and developed a comprehensive “Compliance Program” for the MCG Hospital and Clinics.In 2002, Dr. Spaulding returned to the clinical practice of Gastroenterology while continuing to be involved with a variety of Academic Medical functions. He retired from MCG as Professor Emeritus in July 2007.

Dr. Spaulding continues to be active in the MCG Gastroenterology Training Program as a volunteer physician, and continues to serve our military veterans as a part-time physician (Gastroenterologist) in the VA hospital system.
